❓ Ask Better Questions
The difference between a useless answer and a great one is usually one sentence you didn't type. This guide is about that sentence — how to give AI the context it needs, and how to turn it into the most patient tutor you've ever had.
The context sandwich
Ask for "a thank-you note" and you get generic mush. Add who it's for, what happened, and how it should sound, and you get something you'd actually send.
That's the formula: who's involved + what you actually want + how it should feel. It's the whole skill people call prompt engineering — it's just saying what you mean, with the one sentence of context you usually leave out.

You wouldn't do this to an assistant
Nobody hands a new assistant three keywords and walks away — but that's exactly how most people type into an AI box, because search trained us to. Google finds pages. AI thinks with you.
Tell it who you are, what you're working with, and what you actually need. Then keep going: search-box habits keep you asking tiny questions and settling for the first answer.
Turn it into your tutor
The best teacher you've ever had never gets tired of your questions, and it's in your pocket. The tutor wheel: explain it like I'm new · give me an analogy from a world I know · show me an example · quiz me.
It works on anything — a nutrition label, a mortgage document, the hobby you keep meaning to pick up.

The secret weapon
One question separates people who learn quickly with AI from everyone else: "What do beginners usually get wrong about this?"
It surfaces the trap before you fall in — the misconception, the skipped step, the thing the tidy explanation glossed over. Ask it about every new topic. It never stops paying.
Flip the interview
The best question is often a request for questions. When you don't know where to start, don't guess — make the AI interview you. Its questions pull out context you didn't know you had, and thirty seconds later it's answering the question you actually meant.
